Just one month has passed since I started to write a diary in English.

Google Analytics told me that there were 3 accesses from California in the past week.
I do not quite understand now what this means.
I am confident that the gait training for stroke patients we are doing now is very effective, so I will continue to send in English.


A stroke patient who was in charge of Kobayashi-kun for 6 months at the 4th floor was discharged from the hospital today.
Therefore, we evaluated the gait ability at the end.
The same as usual, the upper stage is the electromyogram of the tibialis anterior muscle and the lower stage is the gastrocnemius muscle.

In addition to motor paralysis, this patient had many points to be solved, but I think that he can walk with a very good alignment.


And, very interestingly, this patient does't have the merit of wearing T-Support (for example,gait speed and stride etc…) , but when looking at the muscle activity, the tibialis anterior muscle shows a very good reaction at the time of wearing T-Support.
 

We received a letter of consent from this patient to publish the scene of his gait training.

いつも図書館で借りてる本よりはちょい硬めやで。
自分のアタマで、どれくらい咀嚼してみんなにフィードバックできるやろか。
数式が出てくると、どうしても拒絶したくなるのですが、因果推論とベイズ統計学はこれからのセラピストの教育で外せないような気がするので、しっかり勉強してみようと思います。
例えばこんな話が赤いほうの本に載ってるんやけど、どう考える？

「子どもは3歳までは保育園に行かないで母親のもとで育つほうが健全である（その後の社会性・知能発達が向上する）」という「3歳児神話」は正しいのか、それとも早期から保育園で専門的な保育を受けたほうがよいのか？
たとえばHill et al.(2002)では、1歳から3歳まで母親のもとで育った子どもと、同じ時期に保育園に通っていた子どもを追跡調査した。
8歳の時点での社会性得点と知能検査を比較した結果、保育園に通った子どもの方が共に成績が良かった。
ではこの研究結果から、母親は子どもを保育園に早期から通わせたほうがいいと結論付けることができるだろうか？
また、政府は保育園の整備に今まで以上に投資すべきであろうか？
それとも乳幼児を持つ母親が安心して家で子育てできる仕組み作りに重点を置くべきであろうか？
